Anita Gale

Anita Gale studied Aeronautics and Astronautics in the College of Engineering at the University of Washington in Seattle.  She earned both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees.  She also earned a Systems Engineering Certificate and completed everything but the dissertation for a Doctorate in Business Administration at universities in Southern California.

Anita started her engineering career for The Boeing Company on the Space Shuttle program in the mid-1970s.  Before the first Space Shuttle flight in 1981, she joined the Payload and Cargo Integration Team, where she stayed until after all of the Space Shuttle orbiters were retired.  She had various responsibilities during those decades, including management, leading Research & Development teams, process documentation, process improvements, and writing proposals for new space vehicles.  After the Space Shuttle program ended in 2011, she was responsible for developing cargo integration processes for the Boeing Commercial Crew vehicle.  She retired from Boeing in April 2016.

In addition to her career, in 1984 Anita Co-Founded Space Settlement Design Competitions (spaceset.org), which now annually teach industry skills to thousands of high school students all around the world.  
Anita is also currently Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Space Society (nss.org), and helps organize several conferences every year for space professionals and educators.
